Action mechanism: antibacterial mechanism, bacitracin methylene disalicylate has three antimicrobial efficacy against bacteria:
1. inhibit cell wall biosynthesis by combining with free phosphate groups of lipoproteins in celll membrane to make the cells gradually died;
2. change cell permeability to make the cells gradually died due to change of osmotic pressure
3. interfere with the synthesis of protoplasmic proteins in bacterial cells.
Further, bacitracin methylene disalicylate has both antibacterial property and bactericidal activity against some bacteria. In the intestine, bacitracin methylene disalicylate can neither be absorbed by blood system and lymphatic system or be destroyed by digestive enzymes released by the gastrointestinal tract or intestinal bacterial flora. In the presence of blood, pus and necrotic tissue, the antibacterial effect won’t be affected.
Growth-promoting mechanism: bacitracin methylene disalicylate can enhance animal appetite to increase feed intake. When using low-dose bacitracin methylene disalicylate, it can resist harmful bacteria secreting toxins to reduce inflammation, thus making animal intestinal wall thinner and villus longer to increase the permeability of the intestinal mucosa and improve metabolic environment in bowel, finally promoting absorption and utilization of nutrients in intestine. Bacitracin methylene disalicylate can significantly reduce the production of ammonia and toxic amines in the intestinal tract of animals and maintain normal levels in the digestive tract to facilitate digestion and absorption of nutrients. Bacitracin methylene disalicylate separates into bacitracin and methylene disalicylate in the body of animals.

【Dosage recommended】
For poultry and swine growth promoting and enteric illnesses(Necrotic enteritis caused or complicated by Clostridium spp and other organisms subceptible to bacitracin methylenedisalicylate) treatment and control it is recommended to use the product premixed into complete feed before use. Mix the product according to species and physiological stages indicated in the following table:
